Tech EdCamp SummIT

Yesterday, I attended the Tech EdCamp SummIT organized by the amazing Learning Technology Team from OCSB!  Over 100 teachers gathered on a Saturday to try a new format of Professional Learning: EdCamp!  EdCamp is a professional development driven by the attendees.  The participants, pose a question or suggest a topic of interest. Next, the participants sign up for a session.  Then, the participants work as a group discussing, sharing their knowledge and learning collaboratively on that topic.   The focus of this Tech Ed Camp was Mobile Technology in the Classroom! There were many sessions to choose from: eportfolios, Google, Reflector, Evernote, FSL Apps, Video Editing, QR codes and so much more!  Here are some of the things that I learned!

  • Using Google for student's eportfolios! Thank you @rolat!
  • How to Blurb faces in Youtube!  Thanks @longrwr
  • Using Screen cap using Reflector and add directly to Smart Notebook! Thanks @rolat and @mscalarco
  • New Google Extensions and Apps to try (Synergize, Murali, ShortenMe) Thanks @glynn_a @jennifernking
  • UP by jawbone!  Thanks @nathalier71 @grade56j @kmcevoy50 @helenecocsb
